COSPAR D2.3/E3.3 Symposium: Solar Variability and Climate Change

This special event will take place during the 34th Scientific Assembly of COSPAR/World Space Congress 2002, Houston, TX, USA, October 10-19, 2002. The purpose of this 2.5-day long COSPAR Symposium (October 10-12, 2002) is to couple the studies of solar variability and its effect on climate changes on time scales of millenia to decades. We call for papers which will summarize past, on-going and future measurements, modeling efforts and understanding the underlying processes of solar variability and climate changes.

Important Deadlines:

  1. Deadline for receipt of COSPAR abstracts: ABSOLUTE FINAL DEADLINE is May 13, 2002 - no abstracts sent after May 13, 2002 will be accepted.
    Abstracts should be sent to COSPAR with a copy to the Main Scientific Organizer (see instructions on the COSPAR web page)
  2. Deadline for Financial Support Application: May 1, 2002 Application form together with scientific abstract should be sent to the Main Science Organizer and a copy to COSPAR
  3. Deadline for Pre-Registration: August 16, 2002
  4. Deadline for Hotel Reservation: To take advantage of the special WSC * 2002 rates, please book your reservation by SEPTEMBER 12, 2002. Rooms will be held while availability lasts and no later than September 12, 2002. After this date, World Space Congress * 2002 room blocks will be released and hotels may charge higher rates. All changes in hotel reservations should be made through WSC * 2002 Housing Bureau by September 30, 2002. After that date please contact the hotels directly.
